Checked it against a boiling kettle (100°C at altitude) and my oven’s own probe, and it landed within a couple of degrees both times. The 12:1 distance-to-spot ratio is a real advantage over the cheaper single-digit-ratio guns. My only real complaint is the emissivity setting, which is buried three menus deep — fine once you find it, annoying every time you have to.
